We choose lighting, furniture, and decor for that hour: the chandelier over a long dinner, the chair you sink into at the end of the day, the vessel that finishes a shelf. Sizing
Too small and a chandelier disappears. Too big and it crowds the table. These two rules get it right.
Choose a chandelier about half to three quarters as wide as your table. Hang the bottom 30 to 32 inches above the tabletop.
Add the room's length and width in feet. Use that number in inches for the width. A 12 by 14 foot room suits a chandelier about 26 inches wide.
